Glass Bottle Cup- Eel no.5

A rescued glass bottle forms this elegant and artful cup. This beer bottle was headed to the incinerator but just needed some lovely, sandblasted, fishy, details. The eel cups were heated in the kiln after being sandblasted for a smoother, subtle finish. This object is great at holding beverages, paintbrushes, flowers, markers, or cool sticks.

This work is part of a series called: Conscious Oddments. Work consists of discarded materials designed for the presently human home & the future oceanic home. The upcoming generation to inherit these objects could be our underwater neighbors due to marine pollution and rising sea levels.
